16 months/Big Brother

16 months is a fun age. Cael is a fun little boy but he is hard to keep up with! He announced on father's day that he is going to be a big brother! I wish I had gotten some pictures. He wore a t-shirt with a picture of a John Deer Tractor on it and it said, "one day I'm going to drive a big tractor, but for now I'm going to be a big brother". We hadn't told anyone and I think they were all surprised. My Due Date is January 3rd, so I am 13 weeks along and there will be 22 months between Cael and the new baby. I can't believe that we are going to have two babies. Time has just flown by too fast.

At his 15 month appointment Cael was in the 13% for weight, 77% for height and 80 something % head. He is tall and skinny like his dad. He is barely a 20 pounder. His hair has gone really really blonde and he kept his blue eyes.

He wanders around the house all day saying "mom, mom, mom, momma, mom" and anytime you hand him food he says "cracker" and he gives open mouth kisses and says "thank you".

Yard update

We are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with the yard for now. The sprinklers are in, trees and shrubs are planted, curbing is done, the sidewalk is poured, the grass seed is in and the grass is starting to sprout up quite quick. We need to get weed barrier and colored rock for the beds and rain gutters on the house and then I think we are done. It really does improve how the house looks. I wait until the grass is here so we can spray off the patios and get our patio furniture out and spray the mud off the side of the house and let Cael run around in the sprinklers.

The garden is also all planted. My peas, carrots, lettuce, and onions are all up. Rasberry transplants are doing well. I planted the tomato, pepper, cauliflower, and broccoli plants. I also planted corn, beans, squash, cucumbers, pumpkins, and a cantaloupe. I was going to do potatoes but never got the starts. I went to pick them up twice here in town and they were out of the kind I wanted. I don't know that I will now. I've weeded it twice already with a little scuffle hoe and it wasn't too bad. I hope to stay on top of the weeds.

Church Calling

I got a new church calling this last week and I accepted it. I am the new Primary Secretary. It is going to be interesting and I'm a little nervous, but I definitely think it was meant to be. I knew before I even met with the bishop's counselor what the calling was going to be so I think I had the answer before the question was asked.

We have a whole new primary presidency and the new group coming in is a little bit younger and has a lot of new ideas to brighten the primary and make it fun. The old presidency was great at what they did; they were just a little bit more traditional.

We are starting by re-decorating our primary room and redoing all the bulletin boards so I made a new sign for our bulletin. I thought it turned out cute.

Every ward in our valley has an entry in the county fair and we are thinking of doing ours around the "lillies of the field" scripture and having each child do a craft that goes with it. This was the idea that I found on pinterest that I thought would be fun but we haven't made any decisions yet.

This was the project that I suggested for father's day for the kids to make and give to their dads.
