17 Months

Cael changes so fast I can't believe it. He is such a happy little boy. He's always smiling and laughing. He is very social. He waves and says "hi" to everyone we pass in the grocery store and to every car that drives by our house. When people talk to him he covers his face and teases them for a minute and then he warms up to them pretty quick. We lost his binky on the trip home from Ogden somehow so we are going on 6 days without one. It has been so nice and easy. I thought for sure we would have to leave sacrament on Sunday without it to keep him quiet but he was so good. I found a binky in the drawer but just hid it and we'll pretend its not there. He is so good at entertaining himself. I worked a 10 hour day when I got home from Ogden to catch up and I fed him and he napped once but other than that he played all day and hardly made a peep.

MRU

Cael and I had a fun time at the Miss Rodeo Utah pageant this year. Grandma may have not had as much fun as we did though. :) I was a chaperone and went everywhere with the girls all week and Grandma Wade came and stayed with us and babysat Cael all week. He slept really good in the hotel room. We took his pack and play and he would just lay in there and sleep like normal even with the TV going and noise in the hallway. One night he grabbed his blanket and grandma's hand and led her over to his crib so she could put him in for bed. Being away from home wore him out and his dad missed him a lot. He liked being around all of the girls. After the fashion show, he got up on stage and started dancing with the girls and modeling on the runway. He also liked the ski divers at the rodeo and the painted horse in the hotel lobby.

4th of July

We had a BBQ at our house for the 4th of July picking up our old tradition now that we are in our house. Last summer was the first summer we missed having the party. The grass has come in pretty well so the kids were able to play. Hopefully by next year we have a sand box and swing and trampoline for them to play on. I also think it would be fun to set up a volleyball net. Cael had a blast playing with all the big kids. He just jumps right in and they take good care of him.
