18 months

Cael has hit the 18 month mark. I can't believe how fast he changes. Its funny how many times a day I think to myself; "he's such a good boy" "he's so naughty" "he's so cute" "he's so funny". You can never understand how much you can love someone until you have a child. It is the greatest thing in the world. I love watching how he interacts with his dad. He watches out the window and gets so excited when dad gets home from work. I'm so excited to be having another little boy to have that bond with his Dad.

He picks the tomatoes and peas right of the garden and eats them with the dirt still on them. I think he's seen his dad do that too many times.

I should've got a better picture but Casey put down weed barrier and gravel across the street along the fence by my garden to display his farm implements. It looks nice.

Cael likes hanging out with Papa too. They go change the sprinklers together and Cael helps Papa feed the horses.

He falls asleep with dad on the lawn mower.

And he really likes his stuffed animals.

Cousin Jenson's First Birthday

Cael has a pretty good time with his cousins. Cael is 6 months older than Jensen but Jensen just about out weighs Cael. They are already starting to form a little bond and they are going to be good buddies.

Casey's 32nd Birthday

Casey has been going and cutting firewood a couple times this summer and needed his own chainsaw so that's what he got for his birthday. I would say he's a little spoiled but my $20 gas bill again this winter will make it worth it.

We've also been looking at camp trailers for a couple months and thought fall was a good time to get one. We bought this trailer the same day we found out the baby was a boy and we are both excited to be able to take our boys on camping trips while they are young. We found this trailer on ksl. It's a 2010 and the previous owner only used it 6 times and really took care of it. It is like new. Hopefully we can get a few trips in before summer is over.

It's a Boy!! 20 Weeks

We had our 20 week ultrasound and we are having a healthy little boy!! Everything with the ultrasound looked good. He weighed just under a pound. I supposedly have only gained 6 pounds but I look like I've gained 20 pounds. The second pregnancy has been different than with Cael. I haven't had the body aches like I did with Cael. I have been sick longer but not as severe. I definitely started showing sooner. I started feeling movements around 18 weeks. The heart burn isn't bad yet and my skin hasn't started itching yet. Hopefully we can skip those this time. We are so excited to be having another little boy. We were both hoping for a boy. We are planning on more kids and hope that one day we will have a little girl too but for now it will be fun to have two boys to be best friends.

Relish

Relish was pretty easy today. My bell peppers are the only thing I planted this year that didn't produce. They would've been handy for the relish but maybe next year. I've never been a big pickle person but I think pregnancy had taken its toll on me this summer and homemade pickles are a lot better than store bought pickles.

Butch

Cael's hair grows so fast that I finally said let's give him a buzz. It made my baby boy grow up real quick.

Aaah my back

52 more pints of beans and 4 quarts of pickles, sore feet, sore back. Relish is on the list tomorrow. Should be interesting.

Food Storage 2013

Mom and I were busy this weekend. We bottled our first batch of green beans out of the garden. 37 pints. I thought that was pretty good for the first batch. We also were able to get some apples from Meghan's mom Mary and did 21 quarts and 31 pints of applesauce.

I've picked about 30-35 zucchini. Made some zucchini bread and have given a bunch away. We've had a couple bags full of peas and about 10 ripe tomatoes so far.

Keeping a blog has come in handy. Its my electronic journal. I was trying to remember how much applesauce I did two years ago and I was able to go back in my posts and find it.

We pulled Cael's booster seat out and put him up to the bar to eat and chat with us while we worked. He has seemed much more content sitting at the counter than in his high chair. He wants to be a big boy now. He has even used the potty a couple times. :)

Fair Days 2013

Casey and I went to the parade and rodeo Saturday night. Cael was pretty good. He sat on my lap the entire rodeo. I thought he would get restless from being held. He was pretty good and pretty tired.

All the wards enter a project in to the fair. Its pretty simple, but just a way that the kids can be involved with Fair Days. Each of our primary kids did a finger painting. We made a book out of it and then I made a cover and a couple little things to put on the table with it. I just made Casey cut me some blocks and I mod podged some paper on them. Cheapest idea I could think of.
