3 months

Colt, you are such a patient, quiet, content little baby. We needed you in our family. You are such a good baby. You are really starting to get some personality. You will look at us and grin and talk. You make such happy little noises. You take pretty good naps sometimes, but you really sleep good at nights. Most of the time you are sleeping from 10-6 sometimes even later.We are so blessed that you came to our family.

25 months

Oh Cael, my little crazy boy, you really keep me on my toes and I'm not sure how I keep up with you. I sit and watch you interact with other people and I think you are the cutest kid in the whole world. You say some of the funniest things. You'll walk in my office at home and say "what doing here mom?" You have been so sweet with your baby brother. When he cries you will shush him and say "its okay, don't cry Colt". You will try and burp him and comfort him whenever he is sad. You give him a hundred kisses a day. I know you and Colt are going to be the best of friends, and I hope Colt can keep up with you too.

You are a total daddy's boy. You LOVE your dad. Sometimes you don't wake up before Dad goes to work and a lot of times you get a little upset that you didn't get to see him before he left. One morning you sat at the gate calling downstairs for Dad. It was so sad.

We've had some warm days so I have tried to get out of the house and take the boys for a walk. Colt sleeps the whole time and Cael looks for birds and air planes. He will look over Deer Creek and say "Daddy mountains" because he knows that daddy goes on the hill.

The last little stretch of our walk, I let Cael get out and burn some energy. He likes to push Colt in the stroller.

We bought Cael a big wheel tricycle for his birthday and I felt bad that he couldn't reach the pedals. Well grandma happened to come across a John Deer Gator used on KSL (which was what I originally wanted to get him for his birthday but they are too expensive). This one was two years old and a little boy was selling it to save money to buy something a little bigger. On top of being priced pretty cheap, the gator was also in Heber so I couldn't pass it up. The guy even dropped it off at Casey's work. Cael calls it his tractor and he is so excited about it. He kept patting the seat next to him trying to get his dad to sit in it and go for a ride with him. It was soooo funny.

Cael likes to hold Colt. He asks daily to hold baby Colt.

We went to Jump Around Utah in Salt Lake for Sterling Ipsen's birthday. Cael was pretty shy at first, but once he warmed up I had to bribe him to leave. He was climbing all over the place.

Who needs a Binky! I've got fingers!

Pretty sure I have the best baby in the whole world. I'm positive he will make up for it when he is older.

He hardly ever cries because he knows how to soothe himself. And he looks so cute doing it.

2 years, 2 months

We are starting to settle in to a routine now that I am working full time again. Cael is doing a lot better. He is such a big boy and he loves his baby brother. The other day I laid Colt on Cael's bed and I heard Cael lean over and whisper "I love you Colt". It was so sweet. Cael's speech keeps improving every day and he talks A LOT! He never quits! :) He can pretty much pronounce everything but "Ls" so he says "I Yuv You" or "I Yike it". It's pretty funny.

Cael has started sleeping through the night again. In his own bed. And his naps are getting longer again. 2-3 hours and he will fall asleep just about anywhere if I don't lay him down when he's ready.

Colt is almost sleeping through the night. He makes it until at least 4:00 every night and sometimes even makes 5-6:00. Nice!

I took them together for a 2 year and 2 month checkup. Cael weighed 25 lbs 2 ounces (16%), was 35 inches tall (74%), and his BMI was14.5 (3%). Skinny, tall feller with no body fat at all!

Colt was 12 lbs 8 oz (61%), 24.5 inches (89%), and his head was 15.75 inches (76%). Cael weighed 11 pounds even at his 2 month. So colt has gained another good half pound on him. :)

Healthy boys and that's all that matters. We are excited for summer and hopefully we do a better job at spending more time outdoors. I can't wait to set up the trampoline.

Cael spilled a bottle of liquid foundation makeup on my carpet and then rubbed it around trying to clean it up. I freaked! After scrubbing for 2 1/2 hours I got most of it out.

Colt's Blessing Day and Cael's 2nd Birthday Party

We had a pretty big week. Last Sunday Casey was ordained an Elder in our church. Thursday Cael turned two, Saturday Casey and I went to the temple and did baptisms for the dead with some of our friends, and today he blessed Colt in sacrament and we had a family gathering afterwards.

 

I was so proud of Casey. He gave one of the best blessings that I have ever heard. We both also got up in testimony meeting to bear our testimonies and talk about how the gospel has affected our lives in the last two years. It was a good day.

 

Colt wore Casey's blessing outfit that Casey wore when he was a baby. It was soooo cute on him. It is a little romper with short legs and short sleeves because Casey was born in August, but I didn't care. It was a warm day. It had a collar and little built in suspenders. He looked adorable.

 

During a baby blessing, Melchizedek Priesthood holders gather in a circle and place their hands under the baby. The men that stood in the circle at Colts blessing were Casey, his brothers Jason and Cory, his dad Jay, his brother-in-law Troy, my Dad, my Uncle Vance, Casey's Uncles John Price and Joe Rail and Bill Young, some of our ward friends Sam and Taylor, the bishop, and Ray, a friend of Casey's that used to be our old neighbor. Casey's grandpa who is battling cancer was also able to make it last minute. He sat on the front row and Casey held the baby down low so that his grandpa could be a part of the blessing. It was really special and emotional for everyone.

 

 

 

We had a party for Cael while all of the family was at our house. I also decorated my very first birthday cake. I was pretty proud of myself. It was fun even though I stayed up way to late doing it after we got home from the temple!
