Miss Rodeo Utah and Ogden Pioneer Days

I was a chaperon for the Miss Rodeo Utah contestants again this year. It was the 60th Anniversary for the Miss Rodeo Utah pageant. All the former Miss Rodeo Utahs were announced on stage at the fashion show. Casey and the boys came up to the rodeo on the 24th. Cassidy Black is the new Miss Rodeo Utah for 2016.

At the Miss Rodeo Utah Alumni and Hall of Fame luncheon at the Timbermine they announce the former Miss Rodeo Utah's in attendance each year and give us a rose.

Cael likes his girlfriend Bailey

Jill Fuller is a chaperon with me and Nicole and Suzie are the directors for the pageant.

I wore a sequin blouse and metallic boots that my mom and uncle Clair had bought for me YEARS ago and I had never worn. I had my mom make me a tulle skirt to go with it.

Bailey got her new chaps during the week and she is wearing them with one of my old chaps shirts. I thought she looks pretty cute.

The contestants were pretty fun girls. They literally had me laughing until I cried a couple times. I missed my boys while I was away but I needed this fun week away. I love staying involved.

Heber Demolition Derby

Casey and I hadn't been to the Demolition Derby in 9 years but we happened to get some tickets this year. We were at a mutual friend's house after the derby 9 years ago when we first "noticed" each other and we started talking and dating a couple weeks later so this was our first time going to the derby together. We took Cael with us but left Colt at home with Jay and Becky. The tickets for our derby sell out within 15 minutes online every year but Casey's work was a sponsor so we were able to get VIP tickets through them.

It takes them so long to clear the arena between each heat that Cael got bored and fell asleep. He slept through fireworks and everything.

Dad's new truck

Casey has been wanting a new truck for quite a while now. His dodge was a 2006. It only had 55,000 miles on it, but he wanted to trade it in while it still had some value.

He happened to find this used 2015 Chevrolet 3500 at the Karl Malone dealership with 7,000 miles on it. Its pretty nice. It has leather seats and had the rhino lining and the 5th wheel hitch and all the options that he wanted with a used price. The dealership was pretty good to work with. Karl Malone is a really good guy and has done a lot for the little town of Heber. Casey really likes his truck. It is a smooth ride and a lot more comfortable that his Dodge was.

Playing on the Creek

On Sundays we like to go on little adventures or roast marshmallows or doing something fun later in the day after church. Today we rode the four wheeler down to the creek and let the boys play in the water and try to catch fish. They thought that was fun until Colt took a little dunk and got cold. I stripped him down and warmed him up and then we went home.

July 4th 2015

We had a party at our house for the 4th of July. Randy and Tami, Jay and Becky, and some of Casey's siblings came over. We had a good time.

We had a few fireworks of our own to set off while we waited for the Memorial Hill fireworks. And the kids played with some sparklers.

The kids jumped on the trampoline with glow sticks.
