Miss Rodeo Utah / Ogden Pioneer Days

This week I was a chaperone for the Miss Rodeo Utah pageant and was able to carry the pyrotechnic flag at the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo. It was a fun week and I was completely exhausted by the time it was over. Jamie Udell is the new Miss Rodeo Utah and she competed on my horse Roxy after her own was injured, so I was pretty excited for her.

Saturday Date Night

I met Casey in the field for a pizza and a ride on the swather for our Saturday night date. It was a pretty night as long as you stayed inside the cab and away from the mosquitos.

Cari's Shower

We held a shower for Cari and baby Ava on July 9th. Her due date was August 27th, but it was a good thing the shower was so soon because Ava came 5 weeks early. I think she was born on July 22nd. Cari was decorating her room in pink and lime green so I made her some bedroom decor. We had a baby shower brunch at Jen's house which was a good idea so that it wasn't right in the middle of the day and everyone could attend. I cut out all of the peices for the card on my cricut, the back side had the shower information, and Becky glued them all together and put them in the mail. I thought the invites turned out cute.

Happy July 4th

Casey and I had our annual 4th of July party in our backyard. We live about 4 blocks from Memorial Hill, where Midway City sets off their fireworks every year. We have a BBQ and our own party before the fireworks go off on the hill. Casey spends a lot of time every year making the yard look nice before the party. Last summer he put in our privacy fence with gates and the fence along with our covered deck on the east side of the house, makes afternoon summer parties real enjoyable.

Casey has a real big family. There are 5 kids and their spouses and 12 grandkids. And in my family it is just mom, dad, Cooper, Megan, and Clay.

Becky brings prizes for the kids to win at the fishing pond, aka the gate of the fence. They got bubbles, glow in the dark bracelets, and of course the traditional can of silly string.

Along with the traditional silly string comes the traditional silly string fight. Everyone always swears that the next year they are going to stock up with cases of silly string, but they always forget and the fight is short lived.

We always have our own firework show before the Memorial Hill sets theirs off. I think the men enjoy it more than the kids, or maybe that is just my husband. It was probably a little more fun when they weren't completely legal. :)

Once again, the party was a success and we are grateful for our wonderful families and for the freedom we have in America.
