I love Fall

I love fall and the upcoming holiday seasons. Its my favorite time of year. Last night I pulled out my scarecrow that I made using old clothes and scraps. I have a couple other Halloween and Thanksgiving projects that I am working on. I will post pictures when I have them done.

Food Storage

I'm starting to learn about food storage and canning and putting up my own food. I worked on my grain supply for awhile and then got busy with life. Now I'm starting to get back into it a little more. Lately I have done 22 quarts of peaches, 12 pint jars of green beens, and 3 dozen packages of fresh corn. I'm planning on doing apple pie filling in the next few weeks and possibly apple sauce. Next year I would like to learn how to do pickles. And then I just need to add a storage room and expanded pantry to the list right? Good luck with that one. :)

Baby Room

So I'm getting a little anxious already to set up a baby nursery. Casey enjoys hunting and the outdoors so much that I decided I wanted to do "forest friends" for the nursery. I want to make most of my things instead of buying the set, just so they are a little nicer quality. I've bought fabric similar to the colors of the pirate ship quilt (minus the green) and will probably stick to the rag quilt idea in flannel and applique my animals on instead of pirate ships and leave the edges of the applique raw. I will have to post pictures when I'm done. The flannel I bought is so nice and soft. I'm excited to get started.

Flowers

I quite enjoy my flower baskets every year; comparing how much they grow. This season wasn't the greatest and all of my neighbors agree it isn't just me. My flowers still did pretty good, but hopefully next year we will have a warmer, longer season.

Casey's Wasatch Elk Hunt

Casey has been entering the draw and accumulating points for the Wasatch Elk Hunt for the last 12 years and he finally drew out this year. He killed this bull on the opening day of the hunt but he has been scouting for weeks and couldn't pass this one up. He hasn't really been able to find much of anything this year, let alone anything very big. I feel bad that his hunt is over already but he had a good time and is happy with his bull. It is a 6x7 and it scored 359.

16 Weeks

I definitely have a bump but I don't think people would guess I was pregnant. I'm so short and short waisted, I'm sure I will be nice and round before too long. There really isn't anywhere for the little guy to go besides out. Lucky me. :)

It's a Boy!!!

Casey and I had a 15 week ultrasound and are excited to say we are going to have a little baby Price BOY!!! We both had a feeling that it was going to be a boy. The ultrasound tech said he is 200% sure its a boy so I'd say that is pretty good odds for us. The poor little guy had the hiccups during our ultrasound and looked happy and healthy moving around. I can't wait to meet him!
