Riding Lessons

I stole these pictures off of my brother-in-laws Facebook. I didn't even know that he had taken them but this is how my Thursday nights have been spent. I am giving my neices Jody and Boston riding lessons. They are six and eight years old, but they catch on pretty quick.

Baby Names

Casey and I haven't exactly agreed on names, so we have been avoiding the conversation. I finally got him to help me make some sort of a list because I want to have a name picked out weeks before we even get to the hospital. He won't admit it's a problem, but neither one of us are very good at making decisions, so we will see how well that plan goes. Here is our list and it is subject to change.

Bennett
Brendan
*Cade
*Caleb
Colby
*Cole
*Colton
*Corbin
Easton
*Gage
Gavin
*Hayden

*= names that we both agreed on!! We are making progress.

Halloween

Mom and I made some Halloween Crafts from Wood Connection this weekend. It was a lot of fun. She is so creative. She made the witch's cape out of tulle and it added so much from the version the Wood Connection had made.

I love Fall

I love fall and the upcoming holiday seasons. Its my favorite time of year. Last night I pulled out my scarecrow that I made using old clothes and scraps. I have a couple other Halloween and Thanksgiving projects that I am working on. I will post pictures when I have them done.

Food Storage

I'm starting to learn about food storage and canning and putting up my own food. I worked on my grain supply for awhile and then got busy with life. Now I'm starting to get back into it a little more. Lately I have done 22 quarts of peaches, 12 pint jars of green beens, and 3 dozen packages of fresh corn. I'm planning on doing apple pie filling in the next few weeks and possibly apple sauce. Next year I would like to learn how to do pickles. And then I just need to add a storage room and expanded pantry to the list right? Good luck with that one. :)

Baby Room

So I'm getting a little anxious already to set up a baby nursery. Casey enjoys hunting and the outdoors so much that I decided I wanted to do "forest friends" for the nursery. I want to make most of my things instead of buying the set, just so they are a little nicer quality. I've bought fabric similar to the colors of the pirate ship quilt (minus the green) and will probably stick to the rag quilt idea in flannel and applique my animals on instead of pirate ships and leave the edges of the applique raw. I will have to post pictures when I'm done. The flannel I bought is so nice and soft. I'm excited to get started.

Flowers

I quite enjoy my flower baskets every year; comparing how much they grow. This season wasn't the greatest and all of my neighbors agree it isn't just me. My flowers still did pretty good, but hopefully next year we will have a warmer, longer season.
