Moving

We had one week to move out of our house after it closed so I'm glad Casey thought of a way to make it easy. We boxed our whole house up, loaded it on pallets, and loaded the pallets on a flatbed and hauled it away. It took three pallets just to get all of Casey's horn sheds packed up.

Our last day at home was May 31st.

3 Months

I can't believe my little boy is already 3 months old. Where does time go? I'm sure I will find myself saying that with every milestone that we hit.

At his 2 month wellness visit Cael weighed exactly 11 pounds. He was in the 17th percentile for weight, 34% for height, and 75% for his head measurement. He must have a lot of brains! He is such an active little guy, that I don't know that he will ever be a fat baby. I wish he would get fat but he is constantly moving his arms and kicking his legs and I'm guessing he'll be tall and skinny like his daddy.

Cael has found his hands, his voice, and his smile. Me and Casey love cuddling with him together in the mornings and he is so happy. He likes chewing on his hands, going for walks in his stroller, playing with his cousins, sleeping, being naked, and is starting to show some interest in toys.

He is such a fun little boy and we love him more than anything in the world.

Goodbye to Our First Home

I'm so excited about our new home but our old home will never be forgotten. I will miss our yard and am not looking forward to starting all over with that at the new house. We live on a dead end street but we put a For Sale sign up and had two different couples walk through our house with-in a week. It sold a lot faster than we expected. We have to be moved out by June 1st. We will be able to stay in Jay and Becky's basement until the new house is finished; hopefully some time in August.

Cael's Blessing Day

We decided a little last minute to bless Cael in May. Last minute meaning we decided on Friday that we would do it on Sunday. I was running around a little crazy trying to do everything I could to make the day perfect. I wanted to have a family party after church so I had two days to clean the house and plan a dinner. I already had a commitment the day before, so I had to run and buy the first blessing outfit that I liked. On his blessing day I woke up 45 minutes late, Cael had a blowout on Casey's khaki pants that he wanted to wear and I had to hurry and wash and dry them. I would've thought the day was going to be a complete disaster, but looking back at the end of the day it really ended up being completely perfect. Cael fell asleep literally 30 seconds before I handed him to Grandpa Jay to do the blessing. Jay gave him the best blessing I had ever heard and it was so special. My dad and a lot of our close friends and family were able to stand in on the blessing. Everybody helped with lunch. I cooked a ham and everybody brought salads and rolls and drinks to go with it. Everyone had a good time. No one noticed that I didn't have time to vacuum my house. All the little things were forgotten and it was the most perfect day. We were so proud of our little boy.

Getting Started on the House

I usually only make it over to the house on the weekends it seems and I get excited every time. I didn't get any pictures in between the "dig" weekend and when the basement walls were poured.

It looks odd right now because it is out of the ground. We have a walk out basement so the basement on the front side of the house will be filled in around and be underground but not on the back side of the house. Somehow because we had so much to fill in on the front and side of the house, we ended up with two garages, one on top of the other. It was actually cheaper to have a garage there than it was to buy the gravel or dirt or whatever to fill in the hole. Crazy. I think it is pretty cool though.

One garage enters from the front of the house and the other enters from the side. In this picture I am standing at the entrance to the top garage looking down on the other garage. A great big cement slab will be brought in and set on top of this garage below.

The gravel here is the driveway and to the right of it will be filled in with dirt.

North Side

This is the back side of the house where the walk out patio will be off the basement. There will be a deck/ patio above it that will be off of our kitchen/nook.

Me, Reece, and Cael aren't much help but we like to hang out. Me and Reece rode with Casey in the Kenworth to get a load of gravel while Cael stayed at the house with grandpa.

General Conference, Baptism, and Easter

Casey's family celebrated Easter the weekend before with General Conference because it was easier to get a big family together. The kids (and Casey) had an Easter egg hunt indoors because it was rainy and windy outside. The kids also played Easter Bingo and got prizes.

Cael got a little chick Easter egg with money for his piggy bank from Grandma Becky. We had dinner with the Wade family on Easter Sunday. Grandma Tami bought Cael some cute summer clothes.

Easter weekend my nephew Tanner was baptised and then we had lunch at his house afterwards. My Uncle Vance from the Wade family is their bishop so it was fun to have a lot of family around. Tanner's older brother Cameron, who got baptised two years ago, spoke at a family gathering about being baptised and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and it was really sweet.
We are so proud of them. They are such good kids.

I love my boys!

Cael looked so cute dressed up like daddy in his khaki pants and button up shirt.

More Exciting News

Just when we thought life was crazy enough and couldn't get any better; Casey and I submitted our application to the city for our building permit to build our new house in Midway! We are pretty excited. We bought a building lot up by Soldier Hollow about a year ago and had planned on waiting awhile to build but have been steered in a different direction. We had some house plans drawn and engineered and I am so excited! I love our home now; its on a quiet little dead end road in a good neighborhood, we love our yard, and Casey has spent a lot of time the last few years updating and remodeling to where our house is practically new, but it is a little small for a growing family and we don't have a lot of storage space. I have to admit it will be nice to have that big walk in pantry, tons of linen closets, a walk in closet, a cold storage and regular storage room, I could go on and on. Casey is generaling the job and getting bids already and hopefully we are in by mid to end of summer.
