Halloween 2014

Cael had a good time for Halloween this year. We went to Aunt Veon's house, then to Trunk or Treat at the church and then to Grandma and Grandpa Wade's, Great Grandma and Grandpa Provost, Grandma and Grandpa Price's, Aunt Laurel and Uncle Joe's, Great Grandma Deanie's, and then Don and Launie's house.

Last year was my first experience with Trunk or Treat. This year I actually decorated the car a little bit. Just took some decorations off of my porch.

We saw the Seven Dwarfs.

Colt 10 months

Holy cow, my baby is going to be a year old before I know it. How did that happen?
I've really been struggling lately with working from home. I've been so distracted by unimportant things that I end up working until 1,2 or 3 in the morning to get my work done. I've thought to myself several times how much easier it would be to just go to work and take the kids to a sitter and come home at 5:00, but tonight when Colt fell asleep in my arms and I looked at my little baby who is now 10 months old I thought how lucky am I? They grow so fast and I need to not take for granted that I get to witness every second of it and I need to be more focused, forget the unimportant things like having a perfect house or what is new on social media, and get my work done so I can spend time with the people that are important. Easier said than done. I feel like sometimes when I could go for days without having a conversation with an adult that I need an outlet and there is always a distraction but this is my own reminder and commitment to be a little bit better. I love this holiday season and I'm going to spend it doing what matters.

Charleston Park

I think I found my new favorite park in Charleston, a little town that is like 3 minutes from our house. It doesn't have the most exciting playground equipment in the eyes of an adult but Cael loved it, there was no one there after lunch time but us, and they had a swing that Colt could swing in. The swing for Colt was a huge convenience. I walked in to the park thinking he would either be held or sat down to eat sand or play in the grass. He swung for 45 minutes and kicked and laughed the whole time. I was able to run and play with Cael. There was little digging equipment to play with in the sand. Cael loved it. He even said to me "mom I love this park". It's nice when there are things that make your day a little bit easier.
