We had the best trip ever with the exception of Casey and me getting a cold our first day there. I miss it already and hope we can go back a few more times before the kids get older.
We stayed at the Howard Johnson that was just across the street and a few blocks away so we were able to walk to the park every day. The kids went and played at the pool our first night there.
Cael did good with all the rides. He didn't really cry or get upset over any rides. The boys were both really patient all week. The lines weren't long. A lot only 20 minutes but for the most part the boys were good. Colt was scared a little bit. I think the Haunted Mansion and Peter Pan scared him. We still took him on rides. He just cried a little bit, but loved them all when it was over.
Cael's favorite ride was Splash Mountain. We took him on it 3-4 times and we were able to sneak Colt on one time even though he wasn't tall enough. Cael also really liked Star Tours and Soarin.
I found a used sit n stand stroller that I bought before we left and I really liked it. It turned well trying to steer through crowds and it folded up flat enough to fit in our car with all our luggage. Colt fell asleep every night before we would get back to the hotel except for one night because he had taken a nap in the stroller earlier in the day. He is a very sound sleeper. One night he fell asleep before we had eaten dinner and I tried for 20-30 minutes to get him to wake up but he was out cold. So he slept on the booth next to our table while we ate.
I convinced Casey to go on Screamin with me. He liked it.
The first character we had sign our books was Fairy Godmother and Colt had a meltdown because he thought she was ruining his book. It took him a while to warm up to the characters.
Everyone in Casey's family went on the trip with us but one of his brothers and his family and Casey's dad.
One of my favorite moments on the trip is when Colt saw Mickey Mouse. He freaked out. Just yelling to him "Mickey, its ME!!! COLT!!!" "Mickey!!! it ME!! Colt!!". It was so cute.
We did a character dining one morning for breakfast. It was expensive and we had already met most of the characters, but the food was pretty good and the boys loved it.
The boys were so excited to meet Captain America and Spider Man. Spider Man kept trying to get Colt to pose for a picture like he was going to spin a spider web, but Colt kept trying to push "the button" on Spider Man's wrist to spin a web himself.
Our last, final ride, the conclusion of our trip was Pirates of the Caribbean. It was probably our favorite. Colt slept through the first drop off. The second one woke him up. I said to everyone "you know that dream/feeling you have when you are asleep and feel like you're falling out of bed, imagine how Colt feels right now."
