Cael is my social butterfly. Everyone around him absolutely loves him and interacting with him. 2 year Olds have such cute personalities and he communicates so well that people like to talk with him.
Lately Cael likes to pretend he is a puppy dog and he gets quite a few good laughs. We have a lot of runners and bikers on our street and Cael likes to run to the edge of our yard and bark at them. I enjoy watching them try not to Crack up. He also runs around and squats like he is peeing on the grass.
Speaking of potty training we have made some progress but are probably still a ways off. On Friday Cael had taken off his pj's and diaper and was running around naked waiting for me to put him in the tub. I got busy doing something and forgot about his state until he came running in and said "mom I have to poop!" We ran to the bathroom and this time (unlike the 50 other times) he actually pooped! Hurray! We put underwear on him and I asked him every 15 minutes if he had to go but we were unsuccessful the rest of the day. I'm just glad he didn't poop on my carpet!!!
Cael- you definitely March to the tune of your own drum. You are independent and sassy and so smart. I'm not going to lie that some days raising a 2 year old with your energy and trying to work from home are very challenging and I pray for patience and guidance to know how to do what is best for you. I have days that I'm really hard on myself and question myself but I pray that you will understand how much I love you, through the good times and the bad. There are a lot of times I have to tell myself that you are only two and that even though you talk so well doesn't mean you always understand. You are such a sweet little boy. Sometimes you like to sit behind me in my office chair and brush my hair while I work. One day I was being a little ornery and impatient and you said to me "mom if I brushed your hair, would that make you happy" and I realized that I learn as much from you as you learn from me. We love each other on good days and bad days.
You love to sing. The new lds app on my phone plays the primary music and lyrics and you sing with it daily. You have had a blast cutting hay and mowing lawn with your dad all summer. You two are best buddies. You are so excited when dad gets home. And you like to bake with mom. I move a dining room chair in to the kitchen for you to stand on and you help me bake bread and cookies. You have an obsession with vacuums still and this week you picked up all of your toys in the living room, office, and your bedroom so that I would let you vacuum. You're my big helper. I'm so glad that you're mine.
